JetBlue Pilot

Is it like 'homicidal impulse'? Can people just go crackers? How does a 12 year veteran of an airline go berserk and how would you have handled this situation - from take-down to landing? One never knows until you're in it.

JetBlue on Wednesday confirmed the pilot's name, Clayton Osbon.
The company's CEO and president Dave Barger told NBC's "Today" show that Osbon is a "consummate professional" whom he has "personally known" for years.

The Tutu Project

It's all about a man, his pink tutu and raising funds for women with breast cancer. More information can be found at www.thetutuproject.com.

Bob Carey is a New York City based photographer. His most recent personal project, shot over the last nine years, are self portraits in a pink tutu. Don't stop reading, it gets better. Bob is currently raising funds to self-publish this series titled, Ballerina. The best part, or at least at the very top of the list, is that net proceeds from the sale of his book, will be donated to woman diagnosed with breast cancer.

It's a movie really - a great film in stills. - Patti Friday

Eat Mexico Culinary Tours

Eat Mexico is the only tourism company in Mexico City offering tours of the city’s street food and markets. Customers can choose from six routes: Tacos, Markets, Street Food, Street Food & Mezcal, Mexican Wine, Pulque & Mezcal or Market Visit & Cooking Class. Most tours run 4 to 5 hours long, and they’re designed for small groups of 1 to 5 people. Each tour is given by a bilingual, local guide.

Eat Mexico’s goal is to teach customers the true flavors of Mexico, which, contrary to popular belief, do not involve blankets of melted cheese and pools of lard. Their customers taste freshly prepared foods from stands and fondas across Mexico City — and they learn about how each item is prepared, its history, and its importance and role in local culture. By the end of their tours, their clients are full and happy, and they’ve learned something they can share with their friends back home.

Eat Mexico has served hundreds of tourists from all over the world. They’re also on Facebook, Twitter and Trip Advisor.

The business was founded in July 2010 by Lesley Téllez, an American expat based in Mexico City, and Jesica López Sol, a chilanga who moved to Mexico City when she was nine years old. Lesley is currently Eat Mexico’s sole owner and executive director. If you’d like to ask Lesley a question, email lesley@eatmexico.com.

Onion Road

we drove on this asphalt together
sun dots blink in your rear view mirrors
I love to watch your blond hair flip and twirl
the heat of the wind blows by
taking my heart break with it
making it vanish too
the sister chatter and gladness
takes away my history, my sadness

we drove on this dusty pavement
pin-wheel coloured chutes float down from the sky
white clouds puffed blue blue expanse above
the coolness of the froggy swamp billows by
taking my heart break with it
making it vanish too
the sister chatter and gladness
takes away my history, my sadness

we drove on this rolling thunder
canopy the trees armies of bees
little bouncing fidgety feet tapping
tiny hand caressing the locks from lashes
taking my heart break with it
making it vanish too
the sister chatter and gladness
takes away my history, my sadness

and leaves it seeded on onion road

Loco Means Crazy

“In Mexico, they’re smart,” said Berta Nava, who assembled the dish, called Tostilocos...."They take a food, a bag of chips, anything and say: ‘What else? What else can we do?’ ” Tostilocos, also known as Tosti locos, are a baseline Tijuana street food, often consumed on the go. There's even a tumblr dedicated to them! I want some. NOW. (Check out these images. Yum. Go here.)
