Lots of Canadian Art!

"With Love".  Aren't these the best two words to read on a gift insertion card?  "I bought you this original piece of art, With Love"  or "I hope you love the colours Abigail chose for you, With Love" or "Hope these flowers cheer you up, With Love" or "Wish you were here with me at the beach. Hope this abstract painting makes you happy, With Love".

I believe fresh flowers need to be on your table every Thursday;  ready for Friday dinner - beauty to enjoy all weekend and into the following week.  Abigail Hitchens (Rock Star Floral Designer) has the most fresh and unique selections!

I believe original art is one of the very best investments you can make. Your investment grows and your collection makes your home exceptional!  (The 'Shore Lane' series abstract shown above are available at Petals in Thyme in Wasaga Beach. Worldwide shipping.)

There’s a hundred variations on the messages we send with flowers, but in essence, it’s all about love. For me the cleverest message to accompany flowers is simply ‘With love’ because that says it all, regardless of the situation. - Brenton Alexander

....and in other news

Scientists in Spain have just dated an early flowering plant, Montsechia vidalii, to the Cretaceous Period – during the reign of the dinosaurs – so flowers were waiting around for a few million years before we appeared and promptly made them emblems of our love and affection. - Stoddard Kull

These 6 originals are also available at Petals in Thyme

Behind the scenes. I want to go there. Don't you? I want to sit on the beach (like I often do) and delve into the mysteries of writing - that the magic involves many things including a lot of hard work.  I find it so enlightening and fascinating to learn the secrets of writing from Writers.  I think this new article from Amy Stewart is so useful.  Thank you for teaching us Amy!

Amy Stewart is the author of seven books. Her latest, Girl Waits With Gun, is a novel based on a true story. She has also written six nonfiction books on the perils and pleasures of the natural world, including four New York Times bestsellers: The Drunken Botanist, Wicked Bugs, Wicked Plants, and Flower Confidential.  She lives in Eureka, California, with her husband Scott Brown, who is a rare book dealer. They own a bookstore called Eureka Books. The store is housed in a classic nineteenth-century Victorian building that Amy very much hopes is haunted.
